As a Student Resiliency Coordinator I work with families, school staff, and students to overcome adversities by providing interventions and skills to help them manage emotions, improve their abilities to problem solve, cope with various stressors and manage traumatic experiences.

MSW Intern assisting in diagnostic assessments, leading group treatment sessions, offering case management, formulating treatment plans for clients and offering other mental health services.

As an intern I managed a case load offering mental health sessions to juveniles in detention for various crimes. I lead treatment groups, participated in judicial review boards, advocated for additional services, assisted in biopyschosocial assessments and diagnostic assessments, and worked with an interdisciplinary team to develop goals and treatment plans for juveniles in detention.

Worked closely with Department of Social Services, local mental health care facilities as well as family health care facilities to provide well rounded care for residents by gaining understanding of youths mental, medical, physical and educational needs. Created plans of care/treatment plans and provided staff with the tools necessary to assist resident in achieving said goals. Documented visits to various providers and prepared reports for DSS for accountability purposes. Attends one training session a month to assist in improving knowledge in the field of social work. Held weekly meetings with staff to ensure goals of residents were accomplished and troubleshooted when there was difficulty in achieving set goals.
