As a scientific lead in the Analytical department at TEVA Pharmachemie, I am involved in the analytical development and characterization of complex steriles. Management of the projects involving planning and designing experiments, and translating scientific goals into actions, while complying to GRP/GMP-standards. This requires the development, review and documentation of methods/SOPs/reports. As well as discussing problems and present plans and data in the project/science meetings.

The project is a is a European collaborative research program, aimed at the development of a theragnostic system for the treatment of Gram-negative bacterial infections of the lung. The goal of this project is to test if a recent discovery on lipid trafficking in epithelial cells can be translated to clinical applications and to deliver therapeutic peptides or vaccine adjuvants across mucosal epithelial barriers.

The antifungal activity of Natamycin. A novel mode of action of the polyene antibiotics. I have spent a significant time teaching students, and was part of two Ph.D. research institutes, namely the Bijvoet and the Institute of Biomembranes at the University of Utrecht, which have broadened my knowledge on different research topics by providing seminars, courses and conferences. The research project was based on a collaborative effort between the University of Utrecht and the CBS-KNAW fungal biodiversity center, and was funded by a utilization-orientated research fund. I have worked with international recognized researchers and all this work has led to three published articles.
