A goal-oriented team player and empathetic nursing assistant who takes pride in giving care to the elderly and vulnerable. I was first introduced to care when my late mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and I had to assist her with her activities of daily living, taking her to hospital for chemotherapy treatment and appointments. It was a heart breaking experience that made me realize that I had a great desire and passion in improving the well-being of others.I am now a competent and enthusiastic caregiver with more than 3 years’ experience in geriatric care within homes and assisted living environments. Throughout the course of my career, I have been recognized for my ability to monitor and provide emotional and physical support to patients. I possess exceptional communication abilities as well as cultural sensitivity to cater for diverse populations.My main duties are to observe and report on patients' status to the supervisor (Registered Nurse), I also possess knowledge in proper aseptic and infection control policies, wound care and vital sign reading. I completed my Home Based Care Course And Advanced First Aide in 2019 with Red Cross Zimbabwe and have recently attained my CHC 33021- Certificate III in Individual support in Ageing & Disability with Outreach Education & Training Consultants (OETC) in collaboration with Lupane State University where I passed my state exam to serve in hospitals, clinics and retirement homes.
