I am a London-based visual artist and illustrator born in Ukraine. Being a self-taught visual artist I enrolled in an MA Illustration course in London, where my primary interest and research laid the realm of art brut, naive and folk art. In terms of the context, my subject matter is driven largely by childhood memories and interpersonal relationships, which are shaped by Eastern European folklore, myths and fairytales I would hear as a kid. Currently, I concentrate mostly on watercolour and coloured pencil. I consider the drawing process as a coping mechanism to deal with distressing events that happened years ago.
