Before pursuing a career as a software developer, I made a living working in sales by utilizing my communication skills, adapting to company needs, and furthering the education of new hires through mentor programs . I always found joy in seeing a new hire make it out of training without letting the new environment or lack of confidence get the best of them. It was often easy to relate with how they were feeling because I had been there too and we all start from somewhere. Those invaluable communication skills I found carry on into all aspects of life. As a hobby, I enjoy bouldering which is basically indoor rock climbing. The idea is that you are presented with a "boulder problem" which you must solve through a series of moves to get to the top and there can be different ways to solve it. After discovering programming, I found it a great way to combine my communication skills with others and my passion for solving problems into one happy career. I'm currently looking to unite these abilities into a position as a junior software developer where I can continue to grow along with my team.
