Liaises with Clients to develop an understanding of project objectives, designs and implements forestry cutblocks for efficient timber harvesting activities, and effective and minimal in-block road engineering. Trains and supervises Field Technicians in all aspects of Timber Development including proper road and cutblock design, riparian identification and management, timber cruising, ecosystem data collection, slope and terrain conditions, and identification of non-timber resources like key wildlife habitat features (nest trees, salt licks), potential archaeological sites, and landscape visibility considerations. Regularly performs Quality Control checks on work that was not directly supervised, and reviews staff performance with more senior management staff. Coordinates and schedules work plans with staff and subcontractors (helicopter providers, staff accommodations, etc.), and tracks productivity and completeness with maps and reports provided to the Client.
