About Zach Davis, Ph.D.

Data Scientist at the New York times, formerly visiting Research Scientist with Meta Reality Labs. I employ a combination of data science, statistical analysis, and quantitative research to predict and understand user behavior. This work involves quantitative methods (causal inference, machine learning, predictive modeling) and qualitative methods (surveys, experience sampling, contextual inquiry). To do this I use statistical programming (python, R), query languages (SQL), and experimental design. These approaches have resulted in- Insights from my experiments driving interface design for augmented reality at Meta.- 16 peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers.- Invited talks at workshops in top AI conferences (NeurIPS, ICLR).
