During my time at Aggrego, I took on many different tasks and learned several skills for multiplatform journalistic work. I started as an intern and was promoted to a digital editor in less than two weeks. As a digital editor, I was responsible for writing copy, editing myself and others, building and growing social media pages and tracking Google Analytics. While at Aggrego, I produced various styles of content such as longform articles, video, blog posts, Q&A interviews and slideshows.

My first full-time writing position was with the Advertiser-Tribune, a daily newspaper in a small town in Ohio. I covered the local politics and business beat, where I worked closely with governmental officials and businesses leaders. I covered the 2012 general election, during which I reported on county and city races as well as a speech by Vice President Joe Biden.

As a contributor to Okayplayer, a popular music website, I gained my first experience pitching stories to an editor and writing about music and culture at a well-respected publication. I started as an intern at the site and wrote album reviews and feature stories on high profile music acts. In recent years, I’ve contributed to Okayplayer on a freelance basis, contributing Q&A interviews and artist profiles.
