Perform design engineering activities as part of an Engineer of Choice firm supporting multiple nuclear power plants. Activities include work described in past jobs but with an expanded scope with respect to the customers in which were supported.

•System Owner for the Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls Engineering group at Arkansas Nuclear One, Unit 1 & 2•Maintain system health and operation through performance monitoring, trend analysis, and preventative maintenance management•Support emergent system issues: failures, degradations, EMI/RFI responses, Operational questions or concerns•Lead Troubleshooting efforts with craft personnel to identify and resolve emergent issues•Work with nuclear industry peers to incorporate fleet knowledge and experience to improve system operation and prevent system failures or undesired responses•Provide engineering input into Operability Evaluations for issues that challenge plant risk and operational concerns•Emergency Organization Response member required to be trained and prepared for catastrophic events (i.e. Three Mile Island, Fukushima, etc...) Participate in drills and scenarios to prepare for similar events.•Provide plant outage support. Outages occur on 18 month cycles which results in three outages every two years for a Two Unit site. Average outage duration is one month.•Prepare Engineering Changes for major plant design changes•Contract Manager for oversight and control of vendor/supplemental supportSystem Health Report Site point of contact, i.e. Superuser / Software AdministratorPerform Apparent Cause Evaluations for detailed analysis and evaluation of a failure to determine the direct equipment failure, the apparent process or procedure failure, and any contributing elements which supported the occurrence.Assist in maintaining configuration control of the plant.Maintain training and qualifications to perform nuclear engineering workPrepare and Provide training as a Subject Matter Expert•Adhere to the Nuclear Plant Access & Fitness for Duty programs

Distribution: Portion of the power lines from a Substation to each individual home, place of business, or specific load.Design distribution power feeds for large projectsWork with the Arkansas Highway Department to relocate or redesign distribution for large highway projectsPerform load analysis and structural analysis to ensure adequate designMaintain phase rotation and phase loading of distribution networkWork with highway department officials, distribution planning, and right-of-way managers to validate adequate designsMember of the Storm Response organization, requiring travel between Arkansas, Mississippi, Texas, and Louisiana for power restoration due to major events.Direct electrical craft during the construction and/or repair of electrical power lines and facilities.
