Sales Associate
Improved customer and client service skills, learnt to respond quickly, effectively to the requirements and concerns of customers. Given a more hands-on role compared to that of other staff in this position. Given the opportunity to work in several departments. Took on administrative duties such as recalculating. Learnt the importance of time keeping, a skill that I have continued to use today, as I would often have to arrive at 15 minutes prior to the start of my shift to make sure that shift changes ran smoothly. On my first shift I was approached by a customer who wanted to know where they could find a particular type of jacket. As this was my first day I was unfamiliar with all of the items in the shop and where they were located, meaning I was unable to help and passed them on to a colleague. On my lunch break, I then took some time out to go around the shop and asked the assistant manager to talk me through the different types of clothing and shoes in the shop. This was important it helped me to prove the services that I was able to provide, as well as demonstrating good initiative.
