As a Pharmaceutical Development intern at Catalent, I work with many different excipients and active drugs. I work on producing a viable delivery for a drug through either a tablet or stick packet. I help with formulation to produce the best product delivery for a drug. I combine powders, test blends, granulate, mill, compact, and perform many other vital processes for the creation of a tablet.I have learned the process for developing a formulation to best for the delivery of a drug. From wet to dry granulation, optimal powder characteristics, to extended-release coating and compression. I understand the importance of proper documentation of the entire process for development. I can operate: Flowdex, FT4, AutoSeiver, Bulk Tap, Friability, Disintegration, Gerteis, Fluid Bed (Wurster Coating), V-Shell, Roller Compacter, ColMill, Tablet Press, Hand Compressions, Hardness Tester, Caliper, and Sotax.

I am a Part Owner of Professional Soft-Wash of Eastern NC. I worked my internship at Catalent during the week and filled my weekends and free time with my self-owned business. I developed great people skills from acquiring clients from door-to-door. I learned how to talk to people and the importance of knowing your message and how to properly and effectively communicate it to potential clients.I also learned how to acquire clients online. I operated a Facebook account and a Nextdoor account where I advertised and posted for my business. I talked to clients and went in-person to quotes. I learned how to balance expenses, manage time, create schedules, and most importantly, problem solve when equipment, transportation, weather or clients fall through.I helped create an extremely profitable business and plan on continuing to build this company. My next steps are to create an LLC, acquire employees, and begin to out-source work. I plan to create an expandable business that values a business model on client satisfaction and supporting the employment of student athletes.
