Principal Consultant
I started here as a consultant and worked my way up to Principal, where I was one of the lead developers for the Microsoft Community Websites. In June 2014, Microsoft released a White Paper on the work I did to move two of their premier websites (www.asp.net, www.iis.net) off physical servers and into Azure VMs (Iaas). I was responsible for the analysis, design, server and site configuration, and execution of the move. Azure Virtual Machines were used in conjunction with a Azure Virtual Network. There was zero site downtime and zero degradation in site performance, and this cut monthly hosting expenses in half. You can read about it at https://www.asp.net/media/4900496/microsoft-azure-case-study.pdfIn March 2015, I was asked to speak at the March 2015 DotNetConf at Microsoft regarding our migration into Azure VMs and the decisions involved. My presentation can be found below and at: http://channel9.msdn.com/Events/dotnetConf/2015/Migrating-a-Legacy-Enterprise-Environment-to-AzureIn February 2016, I completed moving the ASP.NET and IIS.NET sites into Azure Services (PaaS).
