Responsible for process engineering, controls engineering, and planning for the Evanston Silver Eagle facility. Process engineering responsibilities include monitoring and setting cut-points for a Crude Unit, Naphtha Hydrotreater, Fixed Bed Reformer, Benzene Saturation Unit, and NaHS unit. Controls Engineering involves working with Foxboro IA DCS and use of Allen Bradley PLC’s which includes all day-to-day needs as well as programming for capital projects. Planning responsibilities include gasoline blending and compliance, long term planning and economics for the entire Silver Eagle Refining organization through the LP planning program Petro Plan, and tank farm yielding and balance for the Evanston facility. Other achievements include managing the installation of a company-wide historian database (OSI-Pi) and playing a key part in increasing the Evanston facility’s gasoline production by 25% in the summer of 2013 when compared to the prior year. Also managed the implementation of a company-wide Burner Management System standard as well as the installation of the first modern BMS at the Evanston facility.

Only process controls engineer for location. Responsible for day-to-day support of control system as well as assisting on all controls for capital projects. But the main focus is more on the day-to-day needs. Successfully implemented an alarm management system for the site which cut total number of alarm instances for the site by 90%. Successfully commissioned advanced process control on a crude unit as well as a gas concentration unit. Familiar with Honeywell TDC3000, various Allen Bradley PLC's, PAS products for alarm management and loop performance (Plant State Suites), and Honeywell RMPC and Profit Suite.

Project manager for small (<$50,000) controls related capital projects. Responsible for obtaining approval for capital funds and then keeping a budget. Some supervisory responsibilities over contract work. Assisted in all capital projects that involved controls by designing, programming, and testing control schemes. Involved in the commissioning of all controls related projects by troubleshooting and testing instrumentation and electrical loops. Became familiar with programming on Honeywell TDC3000 DCS and various models of Allen Bradley PLC's. Also became familiar with several types of field instrumentation. Assisted with day-to-day controls support as needed.

In charge of planning gasoline blends for various product specifications and ensuring each product is available for pipeline shipments and truck dock sales. Same for diesel products. Responsible for tank inventory management of intermediate blend stocks as well as finished product tanks. Responsible for quarterly and annual EPA reporting on gasoline, diesel, and their additives. Responsible for ensuring the quality of products leaving the refinery adhered to applicable COFR's and customer specifications. This required extensive knowledge on API and ASTM standards for laboratory procedures. Responsible for ensuring all custody of transfer processes abided by API standards as well as local Department of Agriculture. Have some experience in making cut-point changes to various process units in order to achieve quality goals for intermediate products.
