Zachary Benton Email and Phone Number

I will be graduating from Missouri State University in the summer of 2021 with a Bachelor's degree in natural resources. Upon graduating my career goals are to get involved in agriculture. I want to work with farmers and help them appreciate the need for proper soil conservation and health. I would also like to work with the National Park Service and help with forest management and wildlife habitat restoration. In school, I took some classes on forestry and silviculture. These classes changed the way I thought about agriculture and helped me see the big picture of soils beyond just food production. Overall, I would say my biggest career goal is to help the world and hopefully improve its condition for future generations. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, doing lawn work, gardening, hiking, and reading. My favorite books are about weird hopeless dystopian future wastelands. They interest me and make me really appreciate the outdoors. When I'm not reading about the horrors of a science fiction future, I like to experiment with making soil. I love watching worms riffle through a pile of leaves, yard waste, and food scraps and turn them into rich nutritious compost. I try to do as many hands-on things as I can. Now that I am nearly done with my education I feel it's time to start putting all of this random knowledge I have to use. I'm a hard worker and will always put my best into a job. I like to work and hope to one day find a job that will allow me to really push myself.
