Hello! my name is Zachary Canaday, I’m a Junior studying finance from Baltimore, MD. Some of my strengths are communication, perceptiveness, and efficiency. I built up my communication skills and my efficiency during my experience in a professional kitchen. Working as a line cook, I worked in a fast-paced environment, and had to communicate effectively and precisely. I am also very passionate about making my community a better place through volunteer work. One of the most meaningful experiences I have had doing this was on a mission trip to help build a home for a man and his family. During this trip to Tijuana, Mexico, I led a team of 8 in the projects necessary to building a home from the ground up in the desert. Over the course of a week, we encountered many difficulties, including uneven concrete, crooked walls, and even contracting COVID. Despite this, we were able to reach our goal by our deadline by coming up with quick solutions, delegating projects and utilizing all our team’s individual strengths to work efficiently.
