As a member of the international association of animal behavior consultants (IAABC) i love working with animals, be they pets, domestic animals, agricultural animals or even wildlife. Having spent all my life surrounded by animals, either by design or default, I have come to love caring for them, feeding them, grooming them and referring them for treatment. The one animal I have a passion for is the dog. Dogs are faithful and offer unconditional love and are always there whether the human companion is healthy, having a terminal illness, sad, happy, wealthy or homeless. I have worked extensively with animals and dogs in Kenya, Africa and Asia, Dubai. Josh Billings, an American writer in the nineteenth- century aptly summed up dogs and their love and devotion when he said, “A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.”I am a reliable, enthusiastic individual with a deep understanding of animal behaviour. I handle animals and especially dogs, depending on their personality, mood and dispensation. I have over fifteen years working with dogs on voluntary and professional capacities. Currently I am based in Dubai where I am a team supervisor in a top- notch dog care institution. I started from the bottom of the rung to get to where I am today. I truly believe that working with dogs brings out the very best in me. Caring for them, grooming them and cleaning them is a way of decluttering my mind, keeping me alert and the unconditional love that I get from dogs is an unforgettable experience. Again, to Josh Billings, he again said, “In the whole history of the world, there is but one thing that money cannot buy, to wit the wag of a dog’s tail.” Nothing in this world beats the feeling of hearing a dog’s welcoming bark, the wag of the tail of that puppy or dog. It is a great way of lifting my spirit.
