Mycological Research CoordinatorTaricaya Reserva Ecologica Sep 2010 - Dec 2010Designed and directed a mycological research project for a nature reserve in the Amazon Rainforest in Southeastern Peru. Performed growth rate analysis and mycological abundance and diversity studies. Documented 100 types of Basidiomycetes and Ascomycetes, including photographs, spore color, morphology and habitat. Created and implemented specialized composting system to help combat rampart slash-and-burn agriculture techniques. The compostsystem is designed for farmlands of the Rainforest, and will rapidly re-vitalize worn farmland soil and increase land viability. Research was applied to 'Capstone' class, which is similar to an undergraduate thesis.

Participated in a a 16 day survey at sea, part of a continuous marine survey and monitoring program conducted annually since 1963. Fishing survey collected fishery datafrom Woods Hole, MA to Cape Hatteras, NC.
