As an RHealth assistant I take part in research planning with a clear understanding of the team's research goals. I have taken part in data analysis and coding, and have assisted with writing and editing research papers. We are currently finishing one paper and recruiting focus groups as a follow-up for the next. My other responsibilities include building and reading literature reviews, searching for grants, and facilitating focus groups.

As a Medical Teams clinic manager, I was responsible for the daily operations of mobile adult dental and adult/pediatric health screening and vaccination clinics. I would work with my program manager and program support officer in scheduling, staffing, and advertising mobile clinics, identifying the different needs of multiple clinic sites, the recruitment of volunteer dental/medical professionals, and plan optimum courses of action that would allow us to successfully hit target goals as stipulated by program grants and funders. I would maintain clinic HIPAA, WSHA, and OSHA regulations by performing daily, weekly, and monthly standardization and safety checks, maintaining accurate records of daily clinic operations, appropriate and accurate treatment coding, and recording accurate and secure patient data/demographics. I would often assist with managing program budgets. I had an active role in patient referrals for additional needed dental services, assisting typically underserved patient communities with accessing affordable and available dental/health services, and supporting community organizations.

In the Swedish Emergency Department, my main function was to act as the hub between the healthcare team, patients, families, and external departments and entities. I would assist nursing staff in coordinating unit activity often by scheduling patient transport, transfers, and discharges. I would also coordinate doctor to doctor specialty care and consultation. I would maintain patient records and ensure PPI is safely handled per HIPAA regulations, and perform electronic medical record keeping on the EPIC system.

As an EMT at TriMed I was part of a two-person ambulance crew that primarily responded to 911 calls, but also conducted interfacility patient transportation. On emergency calls, we would triage, treat, and transport patients through an EMT scope of practice, or upgrade calls to Advance life support services (paramedics). We would write detailed and accurate reports for each patient encounter and maintain patient safety by following HIPAA standards. Each patient encounter also required detailed gathering of patient history and accurate verbal pass down to the next level of care (typically the emergency department receiving RN).
