Mechanical Engineering Designer utilizing Solidworks software to create engineered solutions for a wide variety of client projects, typically for tasks involving ROV interaction. Design work includes hydraulics and mechanical structures, from concept to delivery.

Design and manage tooling / installation projects for offshore oil and gas work.

I worked as part of the ROV crew and gained a firsthand understanding of the offshore environment.

Wrote the work instructions for the majority of the UHD electromechanical components and assemblies. Wrote test instructions for many electrical components. Improved drawings for clarity of assembly. Identified, analyzed and resolved issues including tolerance stack-up problems, material failures, connectivity issues, fiber optic performance issues, welding failures and many other problems. Provided technical support and made decisions for RMA and warranty repairs. Provided failure mode analysis and technical recommendations to the engineering department. Contributed to shop standards for ROV assembly. Implemented electrostatic discharge safety involving grounding, dissipative materials and PCB handling. Gained an understanding of IPC electrical standards. Familiar with high voltage safety procedures. Wrote procedures, developed tooling and organized a team to perform 3G load testing on ROV and TMS frames per DNV standards. Advanced Solidworks skills including tool design, rapid prototyping, CNC laser programming and plastic mold making. Responsible for routing components onto the assembly floor, tracking and auditing individual work orders using the Visibility program and other software to gather data
