Stabilize patients to be transferred to a level one trauma center for surgery or service not provided. Function as a professional nurse and apply theoretical knowledge to the care of infants, children, adolescents, and adult patients. Match formal knowledge with clinical skills to make appropriate decisions, while using available resources as needed. Educate and teach patients on post-Emergency Department care and follow-up.

Manage patient flow in the department to ensure appropriate staffing. Provide staff guidance, support team in challenging situations, and implement urgent policies and procedures. Coordinate and delegate patient procedures. Supervise nursing teams to ensure excellent care in a timely manner. Collaborate with other unit charge nurses to establish the hospital is running efficiently.

Use professional judgment and knowledge to care for adult patients in an acute setting. Triage patients according to the ESI protocol. Mix and administer all medications according to protocols and orders. Collaborate using SBAR with Physicians, AT's, nurses, and techs to best care for critically ill patients. Educate and teach patients on post-Emergency Department care and follow-up. Stabilize patients to be transferred to a level one trauma center for surgery or ICU admission.

Function as a professional nurse and apply theoretical knowledge to the care of infants, children, adolescents, and adult patients. Collaborate as a team using SBAR with physicians, mid-level providers, nurses, and PCAs while engaging in shared decision-making to holistically care for critical patients. Monitor and comply with safety and departmental policies and procedures. Match formal knowledge with clinical skills to make appropriate decisions, while using available resources as needed. Follow the ESI triage protocol to provide immediate emergency care to level 1 trauma center patients.
