This role has included:Being the lead senior analyst on all national ESA funded, high profile, complex litigations – including the AWB, Westpoint, Storm, LM Investments and Project Louis matters. I was engaged during the middle of the investigation to manage the evidence and support teams involved in the biggest litigation in ASIC history. This included:Performing a thorough review of the status of the matter and preparation of a Project Plan for review, discovery and disclosure across the 3 main actions.Managing the Document Control teams, based in Sydney, Melbourne and BrisbaneRecruitment, training and remote management of the 20+ strong junior lawyer Subjective Review team, based in Sydney.Designing and implementation of the subjective review, incl. analytics, keyword searching, review workflow and QA processes.Preparing the document exchange protocols between the parties and supervising the delivery of evidence to the parties and courts.Managing the Ringtail database (1 million items), the NUIX index (35 million items) and several ASIC internal databases.Engaging with outsource providers for electronic and hardcopy processing, incl. Equivio.Managing three separate e-trials; including preparing and managing the evidence, resourcing the legal teams, implementing remote access to the courtbook and real-time transcript across several sites, establishing a 'remote office' in Brisbane during the trials; and drafting affidavits outlining evidence management.

I was engaged to manage the 15 staff strong Melbourne team across three departments and to implement the outcomes of a strategic review into Support Services; specifically, a complete overhaul of personnel and updating of systems to transform the department into a bureau model, this included: Authoring statement of works documentation to update the hardcopy and electronic processing across the three departments.Managing the national rollout of Ringtail across the entire business; including updates to the IT infrastructure and a national training regime.Utilizing software, such as Adobe, NUIX and Equivio to streamline processes, resulting in reduced support staff levels without any adverse effects on output.Designing and implementing a national Lotus Notes job management system to track and report on productivity, capacity and client satisfaction.Establishing a panel of litigation support companies, including processing and transcription services, and establishing an in-house print room specifically to handle client photocopying and printing tasks for highly confidential material.Attending initial planning meetings for high priority commission lead matters, liaising with the forensic technology and bulk processing centres to offer the client a ‘one-stop shop’ seamless service.

While leading the Legal Technology Department, I was responsible for the management of document review databases, outsourcing of document processing and the implementation of technical solutions across the firm. I brought my bureau experience to assist in:Redesigning and re-launching the department within the firm with a focus on internal marketing, hardware and software upgrades and the creation of procedures and guidelines, such as a new Business Plan, Document Retention Policy and Document Destruction Policy.Educating the Litigation and Major Projects department on the effect of changes to the various Practice Notes, including several CLE’s and articles on the importance of discovery procedures and training on Summation and Casemap software.Increasing the capacity to process both hard copy and electronic data in-house, including managing the technical upgrades across the department, and the branching out to new departments within the firm with the aim of becoming a profit centre.Scoping, managing and supporting all ongoing projects that required daily document processing and database management across the firm, as well as scoping new projects.
