I deliver data-driven insights and strategy to advocacy professionals from association and corporate organizations, providing context on how they are perceived in Washington and elsewhere by policymakers.

I advocated on behalf of wholesale bakery manufacturers to Congress and federal agencies on issues related to trade, agriculture, and food. I managed internal and external stakeholder research projects to demonstrate preferred policies and industry impact. I mobilized grassroots support and incorporate industry feedback to effectively monitor and influence policy in federal and state levels. Highly involved with the Food & Beverage Issue Alliance coalition and ABA's economic impact study.

As the Membership Engagement Coordinator, I developed and enhanced relationships with many of today's beloved wholesale baking producers and suppliers. I maintained organization databases, and leveraged various analytic metrics using quantitative and qualitative data to improve association outcomes. I also performed logistical duties for our annual convention and policy group conferences.

Performed research and analysis projects for the Executive Director, and coordinated marketing and social media efforts promoting the Davenport Institute's goal: leadership through public engagement. Conducted newsletter and promotional analytics and assisted in engagement facilitation and event coordination.

I assisted the Legislative Managers in researching and tracking relevant legislation. I wrote advocacy letters to legislators and prepared objective briefings detailing specific pieces of legislation. Analysis centered on legislation to be voted on by VICA board members. I conducted an archival research project on the history of the organization for its upcoming 70th anniversary.

Created and maintained alumni records. Conducted various alumni research projects.

Facilitated writing conferences with students, discussing brainstorming, drafting, revising and editing, thesis-development. Maintained online portfolio of writing center work and accomplishments.

Worked as an intern in Senator Harkin's personal office. Attended hearings/briefings, wrote memos and constituent letters, conducted a large archival project of Senator Harkin's speeches, conducted research, assisted Environment and Energy staff member, led an estimated 100+ constituents on Capitol tours, answered phones.
