ASSIST strives to improve technology in the healthcare sector, particularly that which deals with wearable sensors. Our research group is primarily investigating novel thin-film creation techniques using pulsed laser deposition. As an assistant to a PhD student at NC State University, I oversee the develop of a MATLAB based application that controls temperature controllers, motors, vacuum pumps, and a multi-MW laser that allows the researcher to easily manipulate variables and see their effects.

Sensus is focused on engaging the utility market in an entirely new manner with advanced metering technologies. As an intern in the radio-frequency communications engineering department at Sensus, a majority of time is spent performing hardware debugging, component characterization, and product assembly.
