Better systems start with bettering our understanding of the human experience....Zac is a social entrepreneur dedicating his life’s work driving community-led outcomes in health, education, and employment.Graduating as a business generalist, Zac’s professional career has seen him traverse the not-for-profit, consulting, banking, and tech sectors before finding his calling as a community leader and founder of Active Eight. Active Eight started from humble beginnings as Australia’s first ballet school for children with disabilities and has grown to become one of Queensland’s prominent paediatric allied health practices providing over 20,000 life-changing appointments each year. Recently, Zac joined The BUSY Group as a Senior Strategist where he works as part of a globally focused team tasked with addressing systemic employment barriers facing vulnerable and disengaged communities. Zac awakes at precisely 5am every morning to the symphony of his two miniature dachshund alarm clocks and spends most of his leisure time tending to their needs, of which they have many. During their nap time, you’ll find Zac on a golf course, cycling, or deeply pondering life’s many absurdities. Zac is regularly called upon to speak on the topics of social entrepreneurship, service innovation, and community development. Zac has delivered a TEDx talk, been featured by the Today Show, Sunday Mail, Channel 9, Channel 10, as well as featuring as an ambassador for UQ’s Create Change campaign. Zac has received a number of accolades including the Queensland Government’s Start Playing Stay Playing Excellence Award, UQ Business School’s For Benefit Award, Sunsuper’s Dreams for a Better World Award, and was a recipient of the Paul Compton Scholarship.
