I am a fourth-year pre-med student at Brigham Young University studying Exercise Science with a minor in Gerontology and Chemistry. On campus, I work with Dr. David Thomson studying muscle wasting disorders with an emphasis in cancer pharmaceutical development. For the 2024 school year, I was awarded the College Undergraduate Research Award, funding my project to study the effects of certain drugs on muscle regeneration in a cachexia model. I was also awarded several scholarships for academics and service in the field of Gerontology. Outside of school, I work as a Medical Assistant at an Urgent Care, Medallus Medical. Working in medicine has provided me an opportunity to develop connections with patients and the problems they are faced with. Volunteering at the Huntsman Cancer Institute allowed me to merge the two worlds of research and clinic that I have grown to appreciate and understand. My interests are in pharmaceutical development, orthopedics, oncology, and surgery.
