About Zachary Higgins
Mobile and Web Engineer with 12+ years of experience.For most of my career I've been a full-stack web developer. I've always been interested in mobile development, but hadn't found a professional opportunity until early 2020. My company was looking to slowly transition mobile app development from a contractor to in-house developers, and I was chosen to be a part of a new two person team because of my well-known passion for mobile. The timeline was expedited by the pandemic, and I was forced to learn the ropes while releasing bug fixes and new features. It was a good challenge and honestly very exciting! It gave me a chance to build on my existing experience in React and React Native, while forcing me to quickly learn the finer points of related packages, such as react-navigation and how to support and enhance native iOS and Android modules. Since our app is often installed on hardware scanners, I also gained experience integrating with third party SDKs.
