Knowledge of electrochemical thermodynamics and kinetics theory was required, therein. Investigated the crystallography of produced electrocatalysts using XRD in order to understand atomic scale structure and interactions with respect to electrochemical catalysis. Characterized the surface morphology and alloy composition of the electrocatalysts using SEM and EDX spectroscopy. Analyzed and quantified effluent gaseous and liquid products using GC and NMR, respectively. Extensive instrumentation training was required for performing these techniques. Comprehensive utilization and research of technical literature was required, therein.
