Digital Additive is a customer experience agency focused on eCRM and Email Marketing. Our approach leverages data, technology and creative to make email marketing meaningful to the customer. I’m part of the organizational team, managing everything from campaign development to product development. For instance, I built an online service tool for Home Depot that they are currently using to serve millions of banners and emails to their customers.As Development Director, I’m tasked with thinking critically to anticipate a client’s requirements, asking the right questions to uncover their needs and the underlying root of an issue.I use my creativity to resolve not only technical challenges, but also human ones. I’m skilled at finding ways to bridge the gap of communication to bring out the best in those around me. I manage a team of 10 developers with a Coaching leadership style. I value feedback, thoughtful questions and motivating conversations. I championed one-on-one meetings with my team, which is now part of our entire company’s management culture.

I joined this agency as employee #4, and was excited to help shape and guide the development side of the company from the beginning. In this role, I became a subject matter expert for Email Development best practices and proper coding techniques.As Senior Developer, I built out customer journeys, solutions and tools in service of client email campaigns. My first project was to migrate our largest client’s transactional emails into Salesforce Marketing Cloud. To prepare for this product launch, I had to anticipate possible customer service scenarios and build the tools to solve potential issues, while still delivering an intuitive user experience.

I founded this web design and development studio with a partner, as we set out to build a new agency model focused on client relationships and communication. Working primarily with small businesses and nonprofit organizations, I really enjoyed guiding clients through project discovery and discussions.We streamlined production by building easily personalized Content Management Systems for clients, which could also get them up and running very quickly. With a lean business model, we took advantage of the growing remote staffing trend and used cutting edge tools to manage communication among our staff and freelancers.As my partner decided to explore other options, I learned through a colleague about the opportunity with a new agency that was just forming, and joined Digital Additive.

BKV is an Atlanta-based full-service direct and digital advertising agency specializing in using data-driven strategies that make brands work harder. BKV’s client portfolio includes local, national and global brands. I started in this firm as an intern while attending school to learn web design. Upon graduation, I accepted a full-time role with this company, just as websites were little more than online brochures for businesses that shared primarily text-based information.This was the year that Apple launched the very first iPhone, and the internet was just becoming accessible to the masses. The culture at BKV was forward-thinking as we focused on learning to design for these new formats.As websites increased in importance for a company’s operations, they needed updates daily, with different teams adding and editing content. CMS development enabled site owners to take an active role in managing their website. I enjoyed researching and presenting the best solution to fit a client’s needs, and empowering them to take control of their website.As I moved up in the company, I became the technical lead for a multi-million dollar account, efficiently migrating dozens of sites to stable hosting environment, managing server maintenance and organization. I also enjoyed managing two junior designers and developers, mentoring them in standards-based web design and development.

I worked for Starbucks previously as a summer job, and was attracted to the company culture for my next position.As Store Manager, I was responsible for daily operations as well as financial results. Serving as front-of-house leader, I spent time on the floor to connect with partners, customers, coach in the moment and identify ways to drive results. I worked to promote an atmosphere of engagement and pride, while encouraging positive relationships between shift teams, inspiring them to understand how their actions impacted the entire store team.I provided coaching and direction for team members, empowering them to focus on operational goals. It was my job to monitor the store environment to identify concerns and opportunities for improvement to ensure a smooth flow of operations.

The U.S. Air Force is the world’s preeminent force in air, space and cyberspace, maintaining an objective of global vigilance, reach and power.I was responsible for maintaining and repairing highly sophisticated avionics systems, responding quickly as a critical part of the safety of our missions.Ensuring that pilots had everything they need to successfully operate their aircraft, I designed and implemented new troubleshooting diagrams and guides for the Autopilot/Instrument. This taught me to be methodical in my problem solving, as I developed a plan of action to understand the implications of each change made.I proficiently performed these complex tasks under the intense pressure of an 80-hour work week, while I was deployed for 180 days. My time served in this position helped me to develop the discipline that has enabled my success throughout my career.
