1St Maintenance Battalion, Clr-15, 1St Mlg, Camp Pendleton, Ca

As a Sergeant (E-5) I was appointed to the role of Barracks and Facility Manager and supervised the maintenance of two barracks and fourteen buildings worth $60M. During my tenure I prepared, tracked, and saw to completion over 500 work requests for maintenance or repair to civilian contractors. As facility manager, I was also responsible for the procurement, inventory, and distribution of lighting, plumbing, and other miscellaneous hardware needed for the buildings maintenance. As barracks manager I personally managed key control, which included maintaining key issue logs, operating KABA-ILCO key machines, and securing master keys for all the facilities. I supervised and trained seven section managers in proper key control, facility management, and the input and execution of work requests. Additionally, I managed the inventory, dispersal, and laundering of the barracks linen. During this time my biggest accomplishment was working with military planners and civilian contractors over a period of four months to remove two mobile billeting trailers. This not only removed an empty eye sore from the parking lot, but also opened up over 100 parking spaces for the Marines to use.

2Nd Battalion, 5Th Marines And 1St Maintenance Battalion, Camp Pendleton, Ca

As a Corporal (E-4), I procured all items for 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines (i.e. vehicle, machinery, and weapon parts, tools, office supplies etc.) Expedited delivery time when possible, tracked and recovered lost packages, and receipted and stored gear properly upon arrival. Upon assignment as procurement manager, loss declined and accountability and receipt of equipment grew more than twenty-five percent. Trusted to use a government purchase card and completed over twenty successful transactions for flags, P.A. systems, electrical wiring, and job specific tool kits. Evaluated and selected vendors and contractors based upon project scope requirements and budget constraints. Managed up to thirty-six separate equipment accounts, ensuring that all property of the responsible officers were properly accounted for, transferred property when necessary ensuring paperwork was completed properly by both parties, and conducting research and recovery or loss actions when equipment went missing. Gained knowledge and became proficient with ATLASS (Asset Tracking Logistics and Supply System) and the Oracle based software GCSS-MC (Global Combat Support System – Marine Corps) Total dollar amount managed over three years was more than two hundred million.
