After training and handing over my day to day projects I took on a role that was much more focused on the larger picture both technically and politically. Working with BAs and PMs I contributed to a more lean and scalable approach to planning and delivery as a whole. From the technical side I focused my main attention on ensuring the teams and I wrote reusable code, APIs and modules that retained value between clients and projects. I ensured that tests were written, CI/CD was operational and implemented realistic technical contracts between teams to help ensure that change was managed effectively without disruption.

My initial focus upon joining Agilisys was supporting tactical COVID-19 solutions designed to help the States of Guernsey manage economical aid to businesses on the island during the pandemic. My focus then shifted building a platform to enable the government to track travel to and from the island, manage passenger risk and designation along with COVID test submission and resulting. Whilst leading the design and development of the Drupal solution (traveltracker.gov.gg) I was also focusing on building and maintaining reusable libraries in PHP that handled integration between various other operational systems such as Dynamics 365 CRM. I then coordinated and facilitated a new development workflow that allowed for better collaboration and reusability of code and resources between teams by implementing industry standard practices like CI/CD and semantic versioning.

My primary focus at HighWire has been on their Drupal 8 publishing platform. I've worked remotely with a development team based in different timezones all over the USA. I've worked on; improving test coverage and CI implementations across multiple repositories, restructuring and standardising existing D8 sites, created a custom composer-project based D8 platform/ distro installer for the product, preparing their custom modules for D9 and implemented SemVer based release and deployment process.

I spent my time at Unipro helping Specsavers decouple from a monolithic Drupal 7 architecture using REST APIs, Symfony and various PWA/SPA applicationsI was also personally responsible for implementing industry best practices across all teams, adapting and improving development and code release workflows, implementing CI/CD and broadening test coverage across Drupal and Symfony applications.
