Marketing Specialist
Current- Manage the day-to-day marketing and communications needs for the Parks & Rec Department. Since starting in 2016 annual participation numbers have increased more than 30 percent.
- Editor for three activity guides each year ranging from 50-80 pages. Teamed up with the Olathe Public Library to create a comprehensive publication starting in 2023. Secured an $8,000 grant to have each publication.
- Manage the department social media platforms, including paid campaigns.
- Aid in acquiring $100,000+ annually in grants, cash and gift-in-kind sponsorships to support department programs and offerings.
- Helped launch the KCBS-sanctioned Qlathe BBQ Championship and continue to offer support through sponsorship deals, award design, event signage and promotion.
- Worked closely with the Parks & Rec Master Plan team to get public feedback through surveys and public forums.
