  • Cars & Bids
Regional Business Development Manager - Midwest & Canada
    Cars & Bids Apr 2023 - Apr 2024
    San Diego, California, Us
As an early hire on the newly constructed growth and business development team at Cars & Bids, I was tasked with crafting and executing a revenue growth plan for our specialty auction platform in the underdeveloped Midwest region and central Canada. The primary strategy focused on increasing vehicle supply by cultivating, building, and managing a book of seller accounts in my markets that would establish trust, build strategic partnerships, raise our average revenue per transaction, and evolve the brand. The book of business I built was comprised of vehicle consignors, collectors, brokers, independent dealerships, franchise dealerships, automotive storage businesses, car community groups, car museums, auto detail shops, and fabrication shops. With Cars & Bids being an underdog competitor in a crowded space, I had to dynamically develop our growth strategy and roadmap via continuous iteration of our prospecting, lead generation, client education, and retention tactics. Using a combination of client feedback, market research, and experimentation, I was able to grow my region from zero to $30k in average monthly revenue in less than a year.I launched over 315 auctions on the site.Outside of my client development duties, I worked internally to test new growth driven product features, optimize our client support practices, explore new marketing opportunities, scope out strategic partnerships/sponsorships, and generate new programs to boost client acquisition and retention. I was also a key resource in defining and launching our Salesforce CRM instance, along with building out the required analytics to monitor our success and track team KPIs. Other responsibilities included representing Cars & Bids within regional community and auto industry events to spread brand awareness and showcase the value of our efficient auction platform. This role allowed me to continue developing my network of B2B and B2C partnerships within the world of specialty automotive sales.
