About Zach M.
TL;DR a creative director making brands famous with work that works. Too busy to update the portfolio, but check some links below if you’re interested. And now… for the third person bio I totally didn’t write or anything. Zach started working in advertising at the age of 16. He’s walked the halls of Crispin Porter + Bogusky, Firstborn, DDB, McGarryBowen, Anomaly NY and now Anomaly LA. His work spans across Consumer Electronics, Automotive, Food, Technology, Insurance, Travel and Tourism, and has been recognized by all major advertising award shows, as well as the Emmys for Outstanding Creative Achievement in Interactive Media.A strategic, logic-based mind coupled with an unabashed love of breaking boundaries, Zach’s work has been called everything from clever to irreverent to impossible. He garnered experience in the weeds working on brands such as Burger King, Converse and Google. Later he was the showrunner for Key and Peele's four-hour alternative Super Bowl Commentary from Squarespace. He spearheaded Dick’s Sporting Goods first Olympic debut with “Gold in Us.” And perhaps most notably, one of the people behind Beats by Dre’s billion-views campaign “Got No Strings.” His managerial experience on Expedia, Beats by Dre, Playstation, Oculus, Facebook Dating and Portal from Facebook has helped each brand grow in culture and achieve their marketing goals. As a writer and Creative Director Zach excels in storytelling, innovation and finding fame for brands through substance. He believes every person, company and organization has a truth. And in that truth is a great story to tell.
Listed skills include Advertising, Copywriting, Creative Direction, Interactive Advertising, and 33 others.

Zach M. work experience
A career timeline built from the work history available for this profile.
Creative Director
CurrentMaking work that works. Sometimes by turning on the waterworks, sometimes by making you laugh while sitting at your desk watching videos at work.
Associate Creative Director
Pitched Beats by Dre from our NY office. Won, moved out West to produce Got No Strings and build the Anomaly LA office with a few other brave souls.
Senior Copywriter
Campaigns for for Dick's Sporting Goods, Squarespace, Google, Converse and Budweiser. Product Innovation for XXXXXX.
Senior Cw / Strategist
Anomaly, McGarryBowen, DDB, startups. This weird time where places wanted writers to be strategists or prototype makers. Happy to do it. Learned a lot of random things. Advised a startup (they’re still alive!) and wrote a lot of campaigns.
Cw
With equal duties in writing and product/business ideation, I worked within the Innovation Group doing "business invention" for Intel, Chase and GE. Oh, and I wrote a lot of copy.
Cw
Got lost. Learned what not to do. Also learned from some stupid crazy good designers and engineers. Wrote some campaigns. Wrote a lot of site and social copy.
Cw (Intern)
The Kool-Aid was delicious and strong. Interned at CP+B and (sometimes) helped create work for Volkswagen and Burger King! couple fun projects. Met Alex Bogusky, his fanboys, his not fanboys. This was my ad school experience. Mostly scared. Often inspired. Definitely lucky to have had it.
Cw (Intern)
Big things small things. Mostly learned what not to do. And they graciously let me do it in their living room.
Feature Film Set Dressing
Built sets for the movie Old Dogs with Robin Williams and John Travolta. Learned about movies etc etc but mostly learned about Brooklyn accents. Also Robin Williams is that funny in person. But also, very caring and sweet.
Graphic Designer
Working after high school in the creative department. And summers in college. Designed local logos for Buffalo companies and wrote slogans/headlines/print. 1/2 design 1/2 copy. To give you an idea of the vibe of the place, my mom’s minivan (that I drove) matched the head of design’s minivan. Everyone was bored but 15 year old me.
