As the UREC Liaison I was charged with nurturing the relationship between the Washington State University Men's Crew team and their governing body, UREC. The basic position included the accurate exchange of information between the two organizations, but it very rapidly evolved into much more than just the stewardship of protocol and operation.As the UREC Liaison I am credited with the successful capture of funds necessary for team operations. I am also credited with the petitioning of UREC for funds specific to the purchase of a $26,000 Pocock Trailer, used for the transport of boats and team equipment. As a team officer and delegated tasks depending on priority, I was designated the event coordinator and planner for the yearly fundraising auction. This included the design of the menu, coordination of personnel, and a great deal of behind the scenes paperwork. The importance of the position quickly blossomed, and eventually it resulted in the UREC Liaison becoming a voting member of the officer corps of the Men's club crew program at WSU.
