Zach founded Broken Lance Partners in 2024 with the purpose of providing 15+ years of quality finance and accounting expertise to the small business and start-up communities.Prior to founding Broken Lance Partners, Zach was the Director of Finance at CesiumAstro, a world wide leader in active phased array technology. He focused on private equity and venture capital backed reporting, internal controls, and compliance. Zach negotiated contracts of >$1m with savings as high as 65% and helped to raise over $95M to expand R&D capabilities and scale production infrastructure.Preceding CesiumAstro, Zach was the Controller at SaaS based fintech company ScaleFactor. He raised over $100M, managed the growth of the company from 7 employees to 150+, and implemented NetSuite. Prior to being the Controller, he delivered core CFO consulting services, supply chain management solutions, and cloud system integrations for 30+ businesses.Before ScaleFactor Inc., Zach was a Senior Corporate Accountant at the $3 billion vertically integrated alternative investment company Vida Capital. In addition to leading financial reporting, he managed a compliance department for a subsidiary that transacted business across 37 states.Zach received his MBA from Concordia University. He also has a BA in Economics from the University of Texas. Zach previously served on the local board of Alpha Tau Omega, a nonprofit focused on binding men together in a brotherhood based upon eternal and immutable principles. When Zach isn't out hiking or coaching youth sports, he's at home cooking up a gourmet meal for his lovely wife and two amazing kids.
