About Zach Vanderkooy

I believe in cities. And I believe they can be better. I work with an international team to adapt the principles of Dutch spatial planning, policy and design to the North American context with an emphasis on active transportation and everyday mobility. I help smooth the gaps between Dutch expertise and U.S. practice. My goal is to help communities build people-friendly places that are prosperous, equitable, inclusive, safe and fun.My specialty is curating custom professional study tours and workshops for North American civic professionals traveling to Denmark and The Netherlands. Virtual work is useful but limited; I believe in the power of travel and shared real-life experiences to unlock ambition and focus in communities.I'm open to consulting opportunities with professional, civic, and non-profit organizations working in transportation and climate advocacy. I'm based in the Rocky Mountains of the United States, and work with clients from across North America, Oceania, and Europe.
