Falcon Camp is a traditional overnight summer camp for boys and girls ages 6 to 16. Located on Leesville Lake in Carrollton Ohio, Falcon is currently active in its sixty-second year.I went through Falcon's Leader-in-Training program, Counselor-in-Training program, and their Junior Counselor program. During my time at Falcon, I lived in the cabins with boys ages 6 to 12 through 5 summers. During 2013 through 2015 I served as the Head of Archery. This consisted of running a working archery range for 8 weeks, and it included keeping track of camper awards, teaching lessons in proper form and maintaining equipment, as well as overseeing Counselor's Assistants from the Leader-In-Training Program and the other Archery staff.In 2014, I was in charge of Camp Store. This involved selling candy and drinks to campers through their personal spending accounts, as well as taking inventory of all the candy and drinks.In 2015, I was in charge of the Dance activity. This included planning and putting on a Dance for the campers and staff once every week. Also midway through the 2015 camp season, I rose to the position of Unit Leader for the Kestrels Unit (Boys Ages 11-12). This new job included planning activities, overseeing other staff in my unit including CITs and Junior Counselors, solving camper concerns in the unit and in other activity areas, behavior management, planning a cookout and overnight (Camping Outside of the main living area, Ex. In the woods, by the lake, etc.) and numerous other tasks.
