I was managing editor for WV Living and Wonderful West Virginia magazines, and also managed special projects for New South Media, Inc. I previously was managing editor of West Virginia Focus magazine.

I was responsible for filling three weekly sections in the newspaper: the Wednesday "Life" section, the Thursday "Arts and Entertainment" section and the Friday "Life" section. This included coming up with story ideas for myself and other reporters, assigning stories as necessary, reporting, writing, managing photographers and, sometimes, taking photos.

I also regularly visited public schools, private schools and colleges for an on-the-ground view of larger education.
