As the VP Engineering at Bit Stew Systems Inc. I am a member of the executive management team and am responsible for managing the engineering department. My main objective is to work with engineering teams and product management to ensure our products - and the software/product development process - meets the needs of Bit Stew Systems and our customers.I am responsible for developing strategic engineering plans, creating project schedules, scheduling the software development and delivery process and milestones, assisting the engineering team with any development issues, and ensuring on-time release schedules are met. Additionally I am responsible for the creation and development of quality control plans and I ensure engineering metrics are met. I routinely work with software engineers, data-scientists, developers and architects. I report directly to the CEO and have a approximately 70 employees who report to me directly or through middle engineering leadership.I am passionate about process, quality and automation (especially continuous integration and automated testing). I am a stickler about managing unit tests, system tests, regression tests and CI environments. I know how to get the most out of my teams and how to help them be as productive as possible.

Reporting to the CEO, I am responsible for all high-level design and architecture choices, setting and coaching the team on technical standards, coding standards, tools, and platforms.I am also actively engaged in several projects directly - including one which I am very passionate about: machine learning (AI) techniques applied to ad-serving technology. Specifically, stochastic modelling, unsupervised off-line learning using simulated annealing optimization of model parameters.
