 Lead a team of up to 30 subordinates through various projects including set up and tear down of entire Patrol Bases and Satellite Communication sites consisting of as much as 20 separate power grids, each with two or more generators and over a mile of cable and 30 distribution panels. Maintain accountability of tools, equipment and personnel to maximize operational readiness. Supervised over 2000 generators and 500 Air Conditioners where 95% readiness was expected and met. Maintain a professional and proper personal appearance at all times. Maintained over $200M of equipment and components of multiple units. Followed/created Maintenance schedules to ensure longevity of equipment.Translated technical terminology to supervisors and officers for their understanding of the situation. Developed a new $1M “Pre-Expendable Bin” to minimize down-time for common generator malfunctions resulting in the increased effectiveness of all operations in Helmand Province. Tested, measured, and adjusted engine and machine systems and components as required to maintain operational readiness. Prepared accurate and complete reports to monitor safety and reliability of equipment. Provided disciplinary action as required. Trained/educated subordinates into expert level maintenance with little to no prior training. Advised owning units on required work, and ensured expectations are met as fast and effectively as possible. Enforced dress codes and appearance regulations. Maintained confidentiality with sensitive subjects. Removed and installed components and parts from diesel engines and power generation equipment. Performed Quality Control checks on over $100M of generators and power distribution equipment to ensure competent work was being completed and operational readiness stayed as high as possible.
