Caffeinated Mind was a Y-Combinator funded start-up specializing in file transfer technologies I cofounded. Our first product was a consumer oriented in browser peer-to-peer file transfer system built using a collection of technologies including ActionScript using RTMFP for file transmission, Ruby on Rails and Node.js for web services, and C++ for building browser plugins. We enjoyed thousands of daily users and were featured in Tech Crunch, Mashable, and Stumble-Upon.Our second product provided business oriented high speed file transfer technology using UDP-based data transfer to provide a huge increase in bandwidth usage. Our product was based largely in Scala on the server side and C++ on the client side. While working on this product we were acquired by Facebook Inc.

Used my programming abilities to help create the latest release of the Apple Remote Desktop software suite. This work involved application of Carbon and Cocoa based programming techniques implemented in both C and Objective-C. This has necessitated an understanding of threading, network communications programming, UI interface design, and multiple application interaction.Helped implement the first version of OSX Server’s Mobile Device Management system. This has required in-depth understanding of Ruby on Rails and Sproutcore web server programming and database interaction as well as C and Objective-C programming and OSX system interactions. It has also involved large amounts of cross-team interaction and integration between disparate projects

My position consisted mainly of performance testing and benchmark development using Python, Dtrace, Perl and Shell based programming, for the Apple Calendar Server, management of the living-on wiki and calendar servers used by the software engineering organization, as well as Python and JavaScript based development for Mac OSX Server, most importantly involving the Wiki Server, Email Server, and Password Reset functionality.

Project Sycamore is a fast, easy-to-run wiki engine written in Python. Wikispot.org is a non-profit organization formed in order to use Sycamore to allow online communities to easily create their own wikis with no necessary technical knowledge. My volunteer work has consisted of large amounts of backend coding using Python and MySQL, as well as documentation and fund-raising.

RealtyGenerator.com is a provider of powerful web-centered real estate lead generation services. My remotely based, self-managing position focused mainly on the development and maintenance of the Python and MySQL based backend data acquisition and processing systems. It also has involved interacting with our customer base at real estate agencies across the country in order to best assure their needs have been satisfied.

At Aruba, a leader in the Wireless LAN Security field, I worked in the customer support and incident response department. My duties included replicating customer network configurations in the lab for problem recreation and debug, as well as helping set up and run network test beds and maintain hardware and software used in the department.
