I believe that with enough effort, passion, and tenacity, anyone can achieve anything. This mindset has guided my experiences, and my experiences made me who I am and will continue to make me who I plan to be.At Indiana University, I involved myself in several mentoring roles for the enjoyment of passing on the knowledge I've learned during my college experience to those just starting it. Most notably, I was a peer tutor for the Kelley School of Business's Computer in Business course, where I introduced incoming business students to Microsoft Excel and Access. Each semester, I guided a group of eight students through the fundamentals of these tools and how to effectively apply them to a business setting. The most valuable part of this experience was expressing my leadership and teaching ability, while also learning better ways to engage a team and encourage them to do their best work. After earning my degrees in Finance and Business Analytics, I began working full-time at CUXcel. As a new company with only a few employees, I spent much of my time developing products while automating procedures and improving the efficiency of our operations. I learned how to utilize professional tools such as Monday.com and Amazon Web Services, and improved my knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite. On a more consistent basis, I developed five products using Tableau: Employee Survey, Member Survey, Peer Analysis, Member Business Intelligence, and our Market Analyzer. Each of these products uniquely gave our clients valuable insights about their performance and were used as tools to guide high-level decisions. To prepare the data for these products, I wrote scripts in Python since MS Excel lacked automation features and the ability to work with large datasets. Processes that once took hours to complete each month using Excel can now be finished by a few clicks of a button after I coded them in Python. Not only did this save time, but it mitigated errors and made it easier to add updates that improve our products. Specifically, I used APIs to pull data directly from sources (e.g., NCUA, HMDA, FRED) and used Pandas and Numpy to clean, prepare, and analyze each dataset.In the Spring of 2023, I had the pleasure of moving to Colorado to take on the role of VP of Finance at Rocky Mountain Law Enforcement Federal Credit Union. In this role, I get to do things I love: Use technology to work with financial numbers, Collaborate with a team of fun and hard working individuals, and Help our members on their journey to financial well-being.
