Spearheaded development of the Hospital’s Intranet and its public Web site. The hospital Intranet was the subject of a cover story in the April 1998 issue of Healthcare Intranet Report.

Provided strategic guidance and as the first president was responsible for daily operational issues during the initial growth phase.

Provide physician oversight of the hospital’s Utilization and Quality Improvement Department. Responsibilities included guiding staff in strategic initiatives and operational issues to keep length of stay low and resource utilization competitive in the marketplace. Chaired regular monthly meetings of the Committee and provided feedback to the clinical departments as needed. Developed and implemented utilization and quality guidelines for physicians in high cost DRG’s and instituted outcomes analysis programs. The hospitals average length of stay was cut in half and its profitability reached record levels in 1994.
