I am a passionate technophile with both academic and industrial experience in solving real-life problems using Computer Vision and Deep Learning. With years of practice and study, I have gained a solid foundation of programming and algorithms, allowing me to swiftly implement efficient software systems. As an MSc student at the University of Saskatchewan (USask), I have completed my coursework with excellent grades and am currently conducting research under the guidance of Dr. Mrigank Rochan. Recently, our work on “Unsupervised Video Highlight Detection” was accepted into the WACV 2025 conference. We are also presenting two papers at the upcoming NeurIPS 2024 Workshop on Self-Supervised Learning in Dec 2024. My undergraduate research work at IUT on “Violent Activity Recognition” was published at IJCNN 2021 and has gained over 70 citations so far. I am also experienced in teaching several undergrad CS courses such as Algorithms, Data Structures, Structured Programming, and Digital Signal Processing while serving as a Lecturer for the CSE dept. at IUT which is a subsidiary organ of OIC and a leading engineering university in Bangladesh. I was actively involved in building large-scale Bengali OCR systems for govt. and commercial clients, while working as an ML Engineer at Apurba Technologies Ltd.I aim to be an impactful engineer and develop robust and efficient systems for solving real-world problems.Google Scholar: https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=jmjN3k8AAAAJ&hl=enGithub: https://github.com/zahid58IUT Profile: https://cse.iutoic-dhaka.edu/profile/zahidulislamPersonal Email: zahidislam1558@gmail.comUSask Email: eqm971@usask.ca
