Starting outside of traditional engineering paths has given me a unique perspective that I bring to my work.My introduction to operating in a successful software team was as a business analyst. It’s here where I mastered the discovery process and requirements analysis, and learned the importance of functioning effectively on an agile product team. Working closely with customers and alongside talented designers, I gained a deep appreciation for user interface design and the user experience.As the product evolved, so did my role, transitioning into that of a Product Manager. This phase of my career, particularly working on a data science project, sharpened my skills in backlog prioritization and product strategy. It taught me to look beyond individual features and understand the product as a holistic entity. It also taught me the importance of truly understanding the needs of your users and the value of honest feedback.Despite enjoying the strategic aspect of product management, I found myself missing the hands-on creation process of writing code. This longing led me to enroll in a full-stack software development boot camp at Emerging Digital Academy in Fargo, reigniting my passion for building software from the ground up. I honed my skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js, and React, preparing me for the next chapter as a full-stack software developer.Most recently, I've been applying my toolkit to my role as a software developer, working across the stack with Node.js, Next.js, and TypeScript. From the initial brainstorming sessions to the deployment and iteration phases, I collaborate closely with stakeholders, designers, product managers, and fellow engineers to bring visions to life.
