Founded in 1981, the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO) supports its members in advancing the science and practice of surgical oncology for the benefit of cancer patients. The Society aims to achieve this through a range of activities related to education, research and leadership in multidisciplinary care.

Surgical Oncology Society Pakistan (SOS-PK) is the main national representative body of surgeons from Pakistan with interest in cancer surgery.It is an affiliate society of ESSO (European Society of Surgical Oncology) and is also part of the Global Cancer Surgery Leadership Forum Initiative of SSO – Society of Surgical Oncology, USA.SOS-PK, established in Lahore in 2008, has the following 3 aims 1. To foster the development of education and training in cancer surgery.2. To promote the highest quality of care of the patients with cancer, emphasising multi-disciplinary team approach.3.To work towards cancer prevention & early detection by providing optimal awareness for general public, health administrators and healthcare professionals.

I had to take active part in patient care in Emergency department as well as Elective setting.In Emergency: initial history, diagnosing emergency conditions and taking appropriate action and order relevant investigations and resuscitation and emergency procedure or emergency admission in ward whatever is the need of time.Elective: admitting the patients for elective surgeries after looking and interpretation of pre op work up and elective surgeries as an assistant and post operative care.
