Greetings!My name is Zaida Denise Forester and I currently live in Corona, California. I served from 1988 to 1991, in the United States Navy Reserve. I worked in the Appalachian region of our country in administration, management, and in the delivery of nursing and health care services. I am knowledgeable on a variety of policies including HIPAA, the TVPA of 2000, DATA 2000, and served on the Tennessee Nurses Association by-laws committee as well as one year as an EEO committee member for a federal agency. I have a certificate in homeland security, from Texas A&M, and my courses focused on policies, preparation, and prevention strategies. In September 2018, I presented at the International Association of Maritime Economists (IAME), in Mombasa, Kenya, three presentations, including my co-authored paper, “Human Trafficking in the Commercial Fishing Industry: A Multiple Case Study Analysis,” which was published, in 2020. This was an extremely special meeting as President Obama announced in Kenya, this was the first time that the IAME held its conference on the continent of Africa. As a registered nurse I felt humbled and honored to have attended and presented at this historical 2018 IAME meeting.I am a successful grant writer. One of the grants I wrote for was awarded to Corona Fundamental Intermediate School, Corona, California. Although I have a PhD in Health Services my favorite e-learning certificate and MPA degree was obtained at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley! Go Vaqueros!Forever grateful for my UTEP BSN!
