Zaina’s background is in criminal, environmental and international law. Her legal practice has included the prosecution of drug importations, environmental crime and fraud. In New York, Zaina worked for a NGO that specialised in advocacy at the United Nations on behalf of small island states. Zaina regularly advises government authorities on evidence, investigative powers, bringing proceedings and statutory interpretation. Zaina received Honors in Law from the University of Sydney. She obtained her Masters in Environmental Law from New York University. Zaina also passed the New York State bar examinations. She currently writes for the Environmental Law and Responsibilities Service.
