Zainab Muse is an award-winning creative entrepreneur, filmmaker, author and educator. She is the founder of Creatorland Inc., a media company that produces scripted and unscripted film & television. For over a decade, she has been a leader in advocating for women entrepreneurship, and creative entrepreneurship, the intersectionalities between art, science, technology & society, as well as amplifying the narratives of unheard voices and underserved people. As an entrepreneur, she creates impact to businesses and organizations she works with by promoting strategies that advance innovative approaches and contributions from excluded communities, and stands out with her cross-disciplinary knowledge & skill set. As a filmmaker, she is driven by the transformative power of storytelling. Some of her productions include documentaries and short films for Canadian broadcasters, along with feature-length films, television series, and a film and philosophy podcast. In addition, she supports many productions as a consulting producer and works on international co-productions with Canada. In 2022, she was selected as a fellow of the Netflix - BANFF Diversity of Voices Initiative, and a fellow of the Black Screen Office (BSO) and Directors Guild of Canada (DGC)'s Black Women Directors Accelerator. Zainab is continuously recognized as a thought leader and a strong advocate of using storytelling and social conscious design to create connected communities & industries. She has led panel discussions, keynote presentations and dynamic workshops on the mindset shifts required to build equitable futures. Her works have also been supported by various media outlets and key officials in both the private and public sectors through every level of the Canadian government.In addition, she has been recognized as an Ottawa ambassador, and has been named one of the 'Top 10 Shifters in Ottawa'. She has been awarded 'Entrepreneur of the Year' by the Women in Communications & Technology (WCT), along with becoming the first Canadian Chapter Lead for Singapore/New York based organization, SoGal Foundation, with a mission to close the diversity gap in entrepreneurship. Startup Canada and the Coca Cola Foundation have also recognized her as a 'Woman Entrepreneur Icon' for demonstrating excellence and outstanding achievement in building authentic and diverse ventures, as well as being recognized, as one of the 'Women Who Lead' in Ottawa, a campaign by Elevate International.
