- Exposure Control Consulting (ECC) Ltd. was founded in September 2020 to help companies implement high quality industrial/occupational hygiene practices to their protect workers, contractors, their families, the community and the environment.- ECC provides services across many sectors such as manufacturing, oil and gas, pulp and paper, construction, residential, and many others. - Services can include: Provincial and federally-legislated documentation drafting (ex. exposure control programs [ECPs], confined space hazard assessments, asbestos management plan, laboratory safety program, etc.), worker exposure assessments, WorkSafeBC/Regulatory body correspondence, baseline facility evaluations and others.

- Independently performed personal exposure monitoring for noise, benzene, hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, chloroform and carbon disulfide and prepared reports summarizing the data - Conducted two ventilation assessments and verified suitable actions and controls with management - Developed two new health hazard awareness computer-based training modules on oil mists and PAHs and upgraded numerous other modules- Supported site Industrial Hygienist through responding to employee requests related to chemical and physical IH monitoring, as well as to queries of product safety regulations and legislation

- Assisted instructor with OHS 421 Occupational Hygiene Methods I, a third-year undergraduate course- Assisted with the grading of assignments, tests, lab sets and exams- Critically evaluated students' industrial hygiene sampling strategies

- Collaborated with McMaster University’s joint health and safety committee to test biological safety cabinets for effectiveness, assess the use of protective equipment by laboratory members and calibrate laboratory equipment - Familiarized myself and laboratory members with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and other OHS legislation- Documented and computerized more than 10 laboratory-specific standard operating procedures (SOPs) to explain fume hood/cabinet use, usage of compressed gases and chemical spill planning- Prepared data summaries and presentations, as well as professional lab reports with limited supervision

- Efficiently managed accounts and synthetic DNA orders of approximately 150 McMaster University clients and external clients - Assisted in purification and analysis of DNA samples with the highest quality assurance- Shadowed multiple next generation pyrosequencing experiments and assisted with maintenance of DNA sequencing machines
